What is Tokyo Location Box

The Tokyo Location Box (hereafter referred to as the "TLB") was established in April, 2001 as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. It provides services to ensure a safe and trouble-free filming experience in Tokyo with the cooperation of local governments, private companies, local communities, the TV/film industry and its related industries. With a view to tourism promotion, industrial development and regional vitalization, doing whatever we can to support you in making an impactful film which conveys Tokyo as a fascinating place to viewers at home and abroad is our mission.

Services of the TLB

 

Providing various information related to filming in Tokyo.

  • Introducing filming locations in Tokyo.
  • Giving an instruction to the local film commissions and local governments.
  • Giving instructions on authorization procedures, such as with the police, fire brigade, etc.

Liaising between film makers and location's owners or managers.

※Each location's owner or manager always has the final say on matters related to the filming location.

Serving as an intermediary between the production and the location's owner, being on the set to help solve any problems that may occur during the shoot as a necessary.

Offering advice on anything related to filming in Tokyo.

Promoting films, we supported using our website and by organizing events, etc.
