Curry Restaurant in “My Uncle”

【英】東京ロケ旅詳細

Curry Shop Den’en

Movie
Northern Ward Area
The curry restaurant featured in the movie “My Uncle” (2016) is Curry Shop Den’en in Itabashi Ward. In one of the scenes, the uncle (Ryuhei Matsuda) uses discount coupons to invite Yukio Haruyama (Riku Onishi) to have a meal, but unexpectedly finds out they are expired at the time of paying the bill. Curry Shop Den’en aims at catering to the locals. It offers generous portions of curry rice with cutlets or fluffy egg, and boasts a delectable Japanese-style omelet on dry curry rice as well as many other mouth-watering dishes that will make you want to come back. The feel-at-home atmosphere of the counter seats in the middle of the restaurant is also quite charming. Just like the uncle and Yukio, add fukujin-zuke (sliced vegetables pickled in soy sauce) to your curry rice and experience on a deeper level the world depicted in the movie.
