Inokashira Park

Movie
Tama Northern Area
Inokashira Park in Musashino City is featured in the movie “Spark” (2017). The scene in which Tokunaga (Masaki Suda) and Kamiya (Kenta Kiritani) walk together was filmed at this location. Inokashira Park is a historic park that celebrated its centenary in 2017. Boat rides can be enjoyed on Inokashira Pond, which lies in the middle of the park. Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty, is actually believed to have named the pond. The park is a famous spot to view cherry blossoms in spring and was designated as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites. In the summer, it turns into a refreshing oasis of mixed trees. Autumn transforms the same trees into a colorful tapestry and fills the various walking paths with a bed of multicolored fallen leaves. The pond welcomes migratory birds during the winter. Inokashira Park is the ideal location to truly enjoy the various expressions of the four seasons.
