Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum
Drama
Tama Central Area
The East Zone Shitamachi-nakadori street, which is located within the precincts of Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum in Koganei City, is featured on the background of the official poster of the NHK morning TV drama series “Daddy Sister” (2016). The dwellings erected on the precincts of the museum served as the filming location for various scenes showing the surroundings of the Kohashi residence which, in the drama series, is situated in a town in Shizuoka. Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum is located within Tokyo Metropolitan Koganei Park. Thirty historical buildings endowed with high cultural value and originally built between the Edo period and the beginning of the Showa era were relocated to this site to be restored, preserved, and displayed. This is the perfect spot to realistically experience the pre-war and post-war Showa period featured in the drama series. Come visit this location when the weather is fine.
