Bridge Connecting Towns in “March Comes in Like a Lion”

Chuo-Ohashi Bridge

Central Ward Area
Movie
Chuo-Ohashi Bridge in Chuo Ward is featured in the movie “March Comes in Like a Lion” (2017). In the movie, the bridge connects Rokugatsu-cho, where Rei Kiriyama (Ryunosuke Kamiki) lives, and Sangatsu-cho, where the Kawamoto family lives. The bridge spans over Sumida River and actually connects Shinkawa and Tsukuda in Chuo Ward. The design of the main tower and railings depicts a kabuto (samurai helmet). A number of cables stretch out straight from the main tower to give the ‘cable-stayed bridge’ structure a majestic figure whose beauty is further enhanced under the floodlights in the evening. Among the surrounding skyscrapers and apartment buildings, the bridge seamlessly blends into the modern townscape and can best be admired while enjoying a water-bus ride.
