River Bank in the Ending Scene of “Gokusen”
【英】東京ロケ旅詳細
Nikaryo Kamigawarazeki in Chofu City
Drama
Tama Central Area
The left bank of the upstream area of the Nikaryo Kamigawarazeki in Chofu City was featured in the drama series “Gokusen” (2005). The familiar scene shown at the end of every episode as the theme song is played was filmed around this area of the river bank. Nikaryo Kamigawarazeki is known as the first weir that was built on the Tama River for water collection purposes. There are biking paths nearby. Many people come to the area to enjoy walking and cycling. Other people can also be seen windsurfing or boating upstream of the weir as the river is quite wide in that area. Tama River and the weir blend into their surroundings to create a magnificent landscape which was designated as one of the 50 Sceneries of the Tama River. Come listen to the soothing murmuring of the river as you take a pleasant stroll around the location.
